Pastor’s Greeting

Dear Friend:

I am delighted to welcome you to New Hope Baptist Church’s website! I want to personally thank you for stopping by to visit us today. Moreover, I would love to have you be an active part of what God is doing here at New Hope. Won’t you consider making New Hope Baptist Church you church home?

To help you get to know us, this website should serve as an orientation to our church with the desire that you be drawn into our fellowship to know more. Let me quickly tell you about us. Our name – New Hope Baptist Church – will best tell you who we are.

New Hope best describes the firm foundation upon which we stand. We believe that there is hope for mankind and we are totally committed to the Word of God as our sure and solid hope upon which we have built our lives and our church. We insist upon the expository preaching of God’s Word every week, so that we might become genuine disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ. At New Hope, we strive to make our lives reflect the glory of God in everything we do.

Baptist defines for you our historical and theological distinctive. We are Southern Baptists by conviction, a people who stand in a great line of people who have gone before us. This godly line can be traced all the way back to the Anabaptists of the Protestant Reformation of the sixteenth century. As with those who have gone on before us, we believe in God’s Word alone as the sole source of authority in the church, salvation by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone, the baptism of believers only by immersion, the priesthood of all believers, the eternal security of the redeemed of Christ and much more. These Christ-exalting, eternal truths mark out our identity.

Church also defines for you who we are. Church simply means “the called out ones.” As such, we are those who have been called out from the world and whose citizenship is not of this world. We are in the world, but we are not of the world. We are the body of Christ, a loving group of forgiven sinners who seek to live their lives together for the glory of God in all things.

New Hope Baptist Church – that is our name. But it is more than just a name. It is who we are. We are a group of Christians who desire to live godly lives in this world. We are friendly, caring and compassionate towards everyone. We are relaxed and laid back. And we are relevant. Is this the type of church that you would like to be a part of? Please pray about this being your new church home.

In Christ,

Pastor Michael Wilhite
